A leading pharmaceutical manufacturer in Taipei is seeking a Cost Accounting Assistant Manager / Manager to oversee production costing, inventory control, and variance analysis, delivering financial insights to support decisions amid margin pressures.

Key responsibilities:

As a Cost Accounting Assistant Manager / Manager, you will oversee production cost allocation and reconciliation while driving process improvements.

  • Perform monthly cost closings, ensuring accurate allocation of labour and overhead costs across production lines
  • Analyse work order variances and prepare actionable recommendations for management
  • Lead annual and quarterly physical inventory counts at the factory and manage accounting processes related to expired or scrapped pharmaceutical products
  • Maintain product standard costs and Bill of Materials (BOM) logic within ERP systems
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and gross margin analysis with timely financial insights

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you will bring proven experience in manufacturing cost accounting within regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals or chemicals.

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting or related fields; advanced qualifications are highly valued
  • At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting; Big Four experience is advantageous
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, or food manufacturing industries with continuous production processes (Process Costing) is highly preferred
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP); Power BI experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of PIC/S GMP regulations related to pharmaceutical inventory management
  • Experience in ERP implementation projects or process optimisation initiatives is preferred
  • Strong analytical thinking, effective cross-functional communication, and the ability to perform under pressure while meeting tight monthly closing deadlines
